The problem: link tracking breaks your deep links
You send a campaign from your email platform. A subscriber on their iPhone taps a link, expecting to land deep inside your app — a product, a conversation, a checkout. Instead they get bounced to the App Store or your mobile site, even though your app is already installed.
This is a known, industry-wide conflict between email click tracking and mobile deep linking. When click tracking is on, your email platform rewrites every link to route through its own tracking domain first. iOS has a strict rule: a Universal Link won't open your app if it's reached through a redirect — unless the browser is lenient. Safari is. Chrome on iOS and in-app browsers (Gmail, Instagram, Facebook, Outlook) are not — so for a large share of your audience, the link falls through and the app never opens.
The usual workaround is to turn off click tracking and lose your click data. You shouldn't have to choose.
What's new: built-in ESP connectors
LinkForty now removes that trade-off for major email platforms. Connect your provider, link to LinkForty directly, and you get both:
- Deep links that actually open the app — in Safari, Chrome, and in-app browsers — because the link isn't wrapped in a tracking redirect.
- Your email analytics, intact — LinkForty records every click and sends it back into your platform as a custom event, attributed to the right subscriber.
Supported platforms
Each one connects in Settings → Integrations with your provider's API credentials. The in-dashboard setup spells out exactly what to change and what to add — and flags the one prerequisite that matters: turn the platform's own link tracking off for those emails.
CleverTap does double duty. If you already use CleverTap for analytics, the same connection can forward your link events and keep your email deep links working — no second integration needed.
How it works
- A subscriber taps your LinkForty link (no tracking-domain wrapper). The app opens directly.
- LinkForty records the click and serves the redirect immediately.
- LinkForty sends a custom event back to your email platform, attributed to that subscriber — so your conversion and engagement reporting keeps working.
It's the same model as our mobile SDKs and Web Pixel: own what happens after the click, wherever the click happens.
Not using one of these yet?
The deep-link fix itself is platform-agnostic — any email tool that wraps links breaks iOS deep links the same way, and the cure is always to link through LinkForty directly. Even without a dedicated connector for your provider, your deep links work and every click is captured in your LinkForty analytics. The connectors above simply add the convenience of mirroring those clicks back into your email platform automatically.
Getting started
Open Settings → Integrations, connect your email platform, and follow the in-app setup steps. For the full walkthrough — per-provider identity parameters, the exact settings to change, and what is and isn't preserved in your platform's reporting — see the Email Link Tracking & Deep Links guide.
